The Macedonian police have pressed charges against Makedonski Telekom AD’s former CEO, Hungarian Attila Sendrei, and three former members of MakTel’s board of directors for abuse of power and embezzlement of some 4.0 million euro ($5.27 million) with signed five fictitious contracts with a Cyprus-based consulting company.
That has caused damage to Makedonski Telekom’s shareholders and the Macedonian government, which in that period was owner of 47% of MakTel.
The Macedonian police will issue an international warrant for the four suspects, after getting a court order.
