At the same time the retail prices have increased by 2.5 percent compared with August 2009.

The consumer basket for food and non-alcoholic beverages per four-member household stood at 11.891 denars in August, calculated on the basis of retail prices. The consumer basket remains at the same level comparing to previous month.
The public has criticized the calculation method. Many consider that the calculations are not in line with the real needs of a four-member family.
